This will certainly improve your workflow if you follow the principles outlined, and time saved in front of the computer is time available to create more works, photographically speaking.
Fine Art Printing for Photographers Steinmuller/Gulbins Rocky Nook 978-1-933952-00-8 Technology often moves on faster than books can keep up - however, this tome is full of useful background which will transcend many printing barriers experienced by photographers at present, as the principles are excellent. A must if you intend making anything more than simple snaps or computer slide shows.
Adobe Photoshop CSxxx for Photographers Martin Evening Focal Press 978-0-240-52028-5
for CS3
Complete with a useful disc tucked in the rear cover, if you ever buy a guide for Photoshop CS, this appears to be the best to date. Every control is gone through in simple, easy to understand terms, & screenshots or photo examples abound to illustrate points. In my copy, the printing was not wonderful, but I can live with it, and it will become possibly my most well thumbed reference in time.
Wildlife & Nature Photography Michael Freeman Croom Helm 0-7099-1008-9 Though old enough to be firmly aimed at the film photographer, the use in the digital age cannot be denied - This book covers many potential situations/location types on a case by case basis, and includes shooting in studio or mini studio at home, with lighting diagrams and hints - trying something new - then this will give you the basic tools and hints to start with confidence
