Photo Restorations & Recreations

My photo recreation and general image restoration work is aimed at those of you who may have some favourite images from years gone by, which perhaps have not been cared for - maybe laying around in drawer bottoms, perhaps become ripped or damaged, or they could even have faded and the colours gone.

Apart from scanning or re-photographing your image, the original you supply remains untouched, and I supply you with a new digital print, fully repaired and adjusted.

EXAMPLE 1 - A PENCIL DRAWING

Below, is a drawing, originally done in the 1820's. Its owner found it in a piece of furniture in a barn, covered in a mouse nest and asked me if I could do anything with it. They were more than happy with the two prints produced - one as a pencil drawing restored and framed, the other as a hand coloured wall print.

Drawing restoration sequence

The work took around 4 hours overall. A professional restorer told them it was beyond salvation - the original was, but the image WAS salvageable.

EXAMPLE 2 - A MUCH CHERISHED PHOTO

Below, is the original, and an almost finished end print (skin and clothing textures to restore still). This example took around 3 hours to get to this stage, and another two to finish well enough to get an A4 print from. The original was a little larger than passport sized.
